Acupressure Massage helps the body really relax deeply, promoting healing and repair.
Relaxation is so important as it can :
- Aid sleep
- Lower your blood pressure
- Slow your breathing rate
- Improve digestion
- Maintain normal blood sugar levels
- Increase blood flow to major muscles
- Reduce muscle tension, aches and pains
- Slow your heart rate
- Improve concentration
This style of Acupressure Massage originated in Japan and is based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, and as a Zen Shiatsu student I also incorporate some elements of this too. In practice I use touch, acupressure, comfortable pressure with palms/elbows/knees, stretching and manipulative techniques to adjust the body’s physical structure and balance its energy flow. It is deeply relaxing and regular treatments can help alleviate the symptoms of stress and illness.
Treatments are performed on a firm floor level futon, loose fitting clothing such as tracksuit bottoms, t-shirt and socks should be worn by the recipient.
