Reiki Healing -
When sleep is a problem
Sometimes we are frightened to stop, because we think if we do we may never get started again. The body may seem to be adapting to your particular situation but sooner or later it will be unable to cope - wouldn’t it be better to try and manage ourselves better?
Often emotional and stressful situations can cause tension within our bodies, we do not seem to have a minute to spare, our minds forever active, our anxiety-bearing bodies override the logic and then deprive us of restful sleep. Reiki can often help in calming this anxiety/sleepless cycle down, so is well worth a try if you are losing sleep over anything.
Reiki was developed in Japan by Dr Mikao Usui in the early 1900s and is made up of two parts - universal or spirit and ki, meaning enlightenment. It is a non-invasive therapy, using an energy which flows through the therapist’s hands when placed on or near the recipient.
Reiki is gentle by nature and suitable for all, it can be used to treat the whole body or can be localised to a specific part of the body. A treatment can last between 45 and 90 minutes. The recipient remains fully clothed during the treatment, which is normally given on a massaged table, but can also be done seated.
Reiki can promote deep relaxation and a reduction in stress, stimulating healing within the body and helping to reduce pain. It gives you an opportunity to breathe and step away from situations and/or people and then be able to see things more clearly.
Using Reiki may help you deal with stress, anxiety and sleeplessness but also it may well help you feel more positive and help you to get your life back on track.
Breakthrough Breast Cancer
During the last round of testing for breast cancer, unfortunately some ladies who have been coming to me for some time were tested positive and are now undergoing treatment. It is a quite frightening statistic that one in three people may develop cancer of one form or another, and all of us have probably been touched by it in one way or another - my mother-in-law died from secondary bone cancer a few years ago. So I have decided to adopt Breakthrough Breast Cancer as a charity for the Clinic.
We are holding a Xmas Raffle to start the ball rolling - a lovely Hamper full of Christmas goodies is just one of the prizes, along with vouchers for The Cookshop, The Book Nook, Number 45, Lotties, The Lutine Bell, Tammy Jones - Beautician at Boughey House) and Petals Florists. Raffle tickets can be purchased at the Clinic and the draw will be done on 15th December.
